Antonique Smith
The actress and singer Antonique Smith is an incredibly talented performer with credits that span across Broadway to film and television along with her own beautiful R&B recordings. Smith was born in East Orange New Jersey on July 23, 1983, was first noticed for her performance on Sidney Lumet's TV show 100 Centre Street. Her fame grew in 2005 and 2007, as Mimi as the lead in Broadway's smash musical Rent. In 2007 she made an appearance in director Julie Taymor's feature movie Across the Universe. Two years later Smith demonstrated her vocal and acting abilities when she took on the role of rapper/singer Faith Evans in the Biggie Smalls biopic Notorious. Smith's acclaimed performance garnered numerous praises from the press and was later followed by roles in movies such as 2011's Abduction featuring Taylor Lautner and Alfred Molina along with the 2011 film Yelling to the Sky with Zoe Kravitz.
